The Rajah Spices story
Our Heritage
Rajah was founded in 1931 by a former Indian army officer in London, who sought home-cooked food and saw a market for it. He opened the Bombay Emporium, importing high-quality Indian spices. As the UK’s Asian population grew, the store expanded its offerings to include seasonings, curry pastes, chutneys, pickles, and poppadums. Rajah spices quickly became favorites in South Asian kitchens across the UK.
Today, Rajah is a beloved brand, known not just among South Asian families but also Caribbean home cooks, maintaining its commitment to authentic flavours.
