The Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a shift engineering team in a fast-paced flagship site that has undergone a multimillion-pound investment with further significant capital plans in the coming years. Reporting to the site Engineering Manager and working closely with the Engineering Planner, Reliability & Control Systems Engineer, and Reliability & CI Projects Engineer, you will be responsible for supervising, coordinating, and delivering of all the shift engineering maintenance activities, both planned and ad hoc on your shift. You will be responsible for ensuring that weekly work plans are effective in achieving the lowest possible downtime whilst supporting the operations team to maintain production efficiencies in a fast-paced 24/7 FMCG environment.

The successful candidate will supervise the work of their team engaged in the planned maintenance and repair of different equipment as assigned to them by the Engineering Planner and plan the work orders assigned to the team. They will ensure all engineering work is carried out safely in an efficient and effective manner achieving high levels of performance on the plant that produces food safe products. The lead Engineer will also deal with contractor works ensuring they are managed in line with agreed engineering procedures, can diagnose the cause of equipment failure and accordingly request spare parts & consumables required for the job. The ideal candidate will have proven experience within a similar position and industry. You will have excellent communication skills, both orally and written, with the ability to manage the expectations of key stakeholders and possess a keen eye for detail.
