Westmill is a specialist food supplier whose market leading brands include Elephant Atta, Amoy, Asli Atta, Lucky Boat, Patak’s, Pride, Rajah and Tolly Boy. Found in the best professional and home kitchens, our brands are respected for their quality and authenticity. Our vision is to be the market leader in every kitchen for trusted, authentic global foods, through working with our trade partners which include wholesale as well as cash and carry, food service, grocery and B2B channels. Westmill is a friendly, culturally and ethnically diverse environment, with a unique family feeling where no one feels like the new person for long and everybody has the chance to make a real difference to the business.
What the role offers:
A fantastic opportunity to work across our diverse international supply chain, where you will be responsible for a designated set of suppliers ensuring stock levels are maintained in-line with working capital targets. You will work closely with Demand Planning, Customer Services & Logistics to understand potential spikes in demand where you will have to proactively review and mitigate potential risks to stock and ensure timely intervention, escalation and communication. You will also have a key role in supporting various projects within the business such as NPD launches, SKU rationalisation and min/max stock level reviews, as well as providing insight leading to optimised inventory, cost saving initiatives and improvement of supply chain efficiency.
What we are looking for:
To be successful in this role, you will have a wealth of supply chain and planning knowledge, plus the experience and ability to demonstrate a track record of achieving targets, using KPI’s and improving processes within a planning function, as well as the gravitas and ability to work with multiple stakeholders both internally and externally. You will have a strong commercial understanding and an excellent analytical and excel skill set, with the clear ability to produce accurate information, interpret data, draw conclusions and give insight which will add value. Great interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, together with a strong understanding of S&OP & IBP processes, are also essential attributes for this role.
In addition to ownership of a designated supply base, you will be expected to build robust relationships with suppliers and support across the entire supply chain in delivering a first-class service to our customers. This is a key role in our team and so candidates with experience of managing a small team and the capability to support the Senior Planning Manager across a wide variety of activities and initiatives to drive the team’s performance, would certainly be of interest to us.
If successful, you will report directly to the Senior Planning Manager and be part of a planning team of 8 people and an extended team that also includes the Customer Service and Logistics teams.
What’s in it for you:
In addition to a competitive remuneration and benefits package, working at Westmill offers a great opportunity for you to gain some fantastic experience, really build your development and ultimately grow your career, in the UK or internationally either within Westmill or Associated British Foods, our parent company.
Westmill is committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive working environment –
a place where we can all be ourselves and succeed on merit.
