The Product & Packaging Development team has a key role in developing specialist products for Noodles, Dry rice, Microwaveable Pouched products, spices and atta flour which service the major retailers, wholesale ethnic markets, food service and Industrial food manufacturers. You will be joining a team of 8 Product & Packaging development specialists, reporting to the Product Development Manager.

What does this role offer?

You will be supporting the PD Manager to deliver the product development strategy, working directly with major retailers and branded customers developing agreed briefs & critical paths. You will be required to build relationships with our customers and support the commercial team. You will be responsible for product development from concept to launch for both new and existing products. In addition, this role covers the maintenance of existing products to ensure legislative compliance and competitive advantage including regular bench-marking studies. You will be expected to develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, professional advisors and official bodies. This is a broad and challenging role where cross functional working is key.


The role will require you to be involved in all aspects of NPD/EPD, this will include working with the Process and Technical teams to carry out product line trials, validation testing, sensory analysis, shelf life and nutritional analysis. In addition to, approving artwork and providing appropriate recipe and product information to enable costings and customer/ technical specifications to be completed.


What are we looking for?

Food related qualification [degree or equivalent] with a strong understanding of product development and factory processes. You will possess high attention to detail, excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet multiple deadlines.  Experience working in a food factory environment would be highly desirable.  We are looking for a real team player with excellent communication skills, who is motivated to deliver to high standards and has a passion for food. You will be comfortable spending your time in the factory, NPD Kitchen, Office/WFH and with customers on and off site and your analytical and thorough approach would make you a real asset to the team.
