Westmill have recently completed one of their biggest capital expenditure programmes, to date. Part of this investment was to transfer the Rajah Spice packing operation from our Trafford site to Enfield, which entailed both the installation of form, fill, seal and automated case packing equipment and the transfer of existing kit.
Joining our Production team at this time means, you will have the fantastic opportunity to learn about the manufacturing/packing aspects within the existing edible oils and coconut environment. But, you will also be able to get involved in this exciting site transformation and to input into building a safe, robust and efficient new spices department within the site.
What you will be doing?
You will be responsible for the safe, effective and efficient running, maintenance, changeover and troubleshooting of the spice production lines. You will be expected to champion a zero accident culture and to drive Westmill’s key behaviours. Through the commissioning period for the new lines, you will get the fantastic development opportunity to work alongside the integration team to establish new procedures and working practices to support the setup of this new department.
You will play an active role in embedding Spices production into the site through the delivery of departmental performance targets such as OEE, waste and yield. Once trained, you will also be expected to complete some basic equipment condition monitoring, preventative maintenance duties and basic engineering repairs.
To be successful in your application, you must demonstrate that you can work both within a team and use your own initiative with a confident and collaborative approach combined with strong, proactive work ethic and excellent communication skills. Having a strong sense of establishing great working practices and standards will be required in this role. You must have a flexible approach to working a shift pattern around the hours of 06:00 – 15:00 or 15:00 – 23:00 (Mon-Fri). There will also be the opportunity to work additional hours before and after shift as well as at weekends. Full training will be provided.
